Sad Deaf News

Miss Deaf Texas Tara McAvoy was struck by a train and died Monday. The train conductor said that they blew the horn constantly right up until she was hit. This illustrates a sad but true danger Deaf people face every day just crossing the street. We may never hear you until it's too late. I personally have nearly been run over by speeders in SBTS's parking lots, all because I never heard them coming. And this happens to me several times per month. No, it doesn't always matter if you look both ways; if you never hear a car coming out of a blind spot, you can't protect yourself.
